THE EXPEDITION TO ABYSSIMA.
(FROM THE MADRAS ATHEX^UIT, SEPT. 9.) A north-west journal hrn supplied the following list of troops from Bengal and Hombiiy intended to focin the force: — Bengal Troops. — Battery R.H.A., Armstrong's, from Peshawur; Armstrong's Mountain Train Battery, from Darjeeling. Cavalry. — 15th Bengal Cavalry, Cureton's Mooltanese. Native Infantry. —20th, 21-t, aud 23rd Regiments Punjab Native Infantry; 45th Regiment Rattray's Sikhs ; 4th Regiment of Goorkhas, via Mooltan to Kurrachee ; and 26th Regiment P.N.I. It is also saia to be highly probable that the 2nd Battalion Rifle Brigade will be made use of on its way home, and a couple of Tegiments on their way out are also to form part of the force, with a view chiefly to testing the merits of the Sneider Enfield. The troops proceed via Mooltan, to concentrate at Kurrachee about end of October, and thence by transports to Aden, where the united Bengal and Bombay divisions" will rendezvous early in December, sailing thence to Massowah, where the whole expedition will disembark. Bombay Troops. — British Infantry. — 2nd Queen's Royals, from Aden ; 33rd Foot, from Bombay to Aden to relieve the 2nd. Native Calvary. — Ist Regiment Sind Horse, from Jacobabad; Ist Company Sappers and Miners, from Kirkee. Native Infauty.-4th Regiment Bombay Native Infantiy (Rifles) ; 27th Regiment Native Infantry (Beloochees. Rifles). The Ist and 4lh Batteries 21st Brigade Royal Artillery will probably be formed into mortar and rocket batteries. If, continues our contemporary, this force goes, it will be certainly about as fine a body of men as ' anyone would desire. » London, Sept. 9. The two divisions of the Abssinia expedition ai*e to be commanded by Generals Stavely and Malcolm.
