The improved activity in the import market, noted in our last report, has not been lnaiutained during this week. The severe weather generally prevalent on tho West Coaat at this season lias now for some time been unusually unpropitious to the shipping and mercantile interests. The cargo of produce, ox Dart, from the Molyneux, and the contributions of tho Keera, Phoebo and Kenuedy, which were limited, are all that havo come to hand for the week. The fleet being still in tha roadstead business has been duli : tho demand for all classes of goods very light. Scarcely any alteration can be quoted in values. Flour is without improvement ; Dufficld's has sold at Ll6 10s ; Hart's, Ll7. This figure is present value. Brandies in bulk aro more enquired for at, for OVP,j7s ; Hennessy's and Martell's 7s 9d to Bs. Beer in bulk and glass move off slowly. Sinclair's hams have changed hands at Is 4id; bacon, Is 3d to Is 4d ; first-class butter is scarce, and would .realise Is 5d to Is fid. Provisions generally are working low in stock. Potatoes, ex Dart, were placed at L-1 5s to L 6, and oats at 3s 7d. There is no prsspeet of either of the items improving. Tho amount of import duties collected during the woek was LI66S 8s 6d. Mr G. W. BIKZTC7 reports the following sales for the week: — Ex Dancing Wave and Huon Belle — butter, Is to Is sd ; potatoes, L42s6d to LL 10s ; apples, 14s. Ex Glencoe — lot of pigs, averaging L 3 3s each. Es John Bullock— chaff, all faults, L 3 15s to L 4 10s. Ex Dart— potatoes, L-t 5s to L 6; oats, 3s 7d. At Mart — Sinclair's hams, all faults, 9d to Ll 2d.
