JONES' FLAT UNITED TAIL RACE (SLUSHY) COMPANY.
A well attended meeting of shareholders was held at the Empire Hotel, on the 15th instant, Mr Morgan in the chair. The minutes of the last meeting, except so far as related to fluming the race through Morgan's claim, were confirmed. It was agreed to refund 14s to Ingram and Party. Proposed by Mr M'Auliffe, seconded by Mr M'Mahon, — "That a Committee, 'consisting of eight members, be appointed for the management of the affairs of the Company." Carried. The following members were then elected : — Messrs Muir, Hayes, White, Wooding, Craft, Miller, Morgan, and Jones. Proposed by Mr Muir, seconded by Mr Mankey, — "That a Manager be appointed, and that he receive one pound per day when employed on the race, his labour to be approved by the Committee." Mr Thomas Hobson was then appointed Manager in place of Mr M'Kenzie, resigned, and that he collect all monies, keep the books, and call meetings. COMMITTEE MEETING. The Committee then met, all present. Mr Hayes in the chair. Mr "White was appointed Treasurer. The Manager was instructed to prevent any parties running tailings into the Company's race. The Committee then adjourned till the following day, when the following members were present : — Messrs Morgan, Muir, Hayes, Wooding, and Miller. Mr Morgan in the chair. The Manager reported that the race required clearing out from the bridge to the end of the fluming, and was authorised to do the work. The Manager was instructed to post notices on all the branch tail races, warning parties against running tailings into the Company's race, and to summon any that persist in doing so.
