ARRIVAL OF THE ENGLISH MAIL.
(Br Electeic Telegraph.) (pbom the evening stab.) Chbistchtjbch, Monday, 4.45 p.m. The s.s. Kangitoto, Tavcrner, commander, arrived at the Bluff yesterday afternoon, at 4 p.m. Left Williamstovra at 1 p.m, on the 14th inst. The Bombay anchored in Hobson's Bay at half-past 10 on the l'ifch. One day behind her time. The cause of her nonarrival at the usual time was due to the Peninsular and Oriental Company's steamer Surat grounding on a reef in the lted Sea, ninety miles from Suez. The niails and passengers were quickly transhipped to the Peninsular and Oriental Company's steamer Nubia, but unfortunately one thousand bales had to bo thrown overboard on the voyage from Surat, to lighten her. Prospects of saving her were very favorable.
