THE HON. JOHN HALL.

Mr Hall writes the following letter to the " Lyttelton Times :"— A DISCLAIMER. TO THE EDITOR OF THE LYTTELTON TIMES. Sir, — In your paper of the Bth insfc. it is stated that I am to be the new nominated Superintendent for Westland. I shall feel obliged if you will allow mo to state that the report is without foundation. Your obedient servant, John Hall. Oct. 11, 1867. In referring to this letter, the "Times" says :— ■>■ Mr John Hall has written to contradict Uio rumor of his appoiutment to the Superin- ' tendency of the rulership of Westland. It is but right to stale that the rumor was generally believed by the Canterbury members of Assembly, and by others, and that it took its rise from certain statements in Bellamy's, by those who ought to be quite as well informed 08 the honorable gentleman himself. But this is not the first instance of differences in the Ministry. "Wo can only regret that the rumor is not correct. The following is the text of Mr Stafford's telegram to the President of the Separation League, dated Wellington, October 9 : — " Mr Hall is going to Westland in a few days, to make arrangements with respect to the County of Westlaud Bill." No subsequent communication has been received, and we can only wait for further developments,
