ELECTION FOR THE MAYORALTY. TO THE RATEPAYERS. /~1 ENTLEMEN ,— I beg to announce myself as a Candidate for the Office of MAY OR during the present Municipal Year. I fear that the present state of my health will prevont my attending at the Nomination to-morrow (Tuesday) ; but I hope to be able during tho week to meet you, and to submit the grounds on which I ask this honor at your hands. Meanwhile, I would suggest the withholding any promises until the whole of the Candidates have expressed their views on this important trust. Yours very respectfully, William Shaw.
