Last evening, at sunset, a brig, supposed to bo the Esperanza from Melbourne, was standing in to the roadstead under topgallant sails. Wo presume that she anchored. The damage sustained oy the tug Challenge on Sunday lias been made good again, and she is now ready for work. We hope to see her actively employed this morning. The shipping transactions of yesterday were nil, as [the surf and fresh combined to keep the bar in an impassable state. Both had so much moderated last night, that we are hopeful the channel will be open to-day. Messrs. Royse, Mndie, the agents here, were informed by telegram yesterday of the departure of the 6.5. The ship Cissy, from London, arrived at Nelson on the 26th ult. She left the Downs June Bth, crossed the equator July 14th, passed the meridian of Cape Town August 11th, and sighted tho New Zealand coast about Cape Foulwind September 16th. One hundred and twenty-three passengers arrived by the Ci3sy, amongst them was the Right Revd Dr. Suter, the Bishop of Nelson. The p.s. Huntress is in a fair way of relaunching, having been lifted and chocked, and the first length of ways laid under her. She will probably be afloat by the latter end of this week. We see by advertisement that tho s.b. Egmonfc will touch afc Hokitika on her way to Sydney from Nelson, and is expected here on the 10th instant. The majority of tho passengers who shipped in the Egmonfc afc Melbourne, are yet aboard her, a few only having, been landed afc Greymouth by the Tasmanian Maid.
