HOKITIKA FIRE BRIGADE.

The adjourned monthly meeting of the Hokitika Volunteer Fire Brigade was held on Monday evening, in the Fire Brigade Hall, Eevell street. Captain M'Farlane in the chair. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Several accounts were passed, and ordered to be paid. Proposed by Mr Buxton, seconded by Mr Woodsiae, and carried. — " That samples of helmets be sent for to Melbourne. The following new members were elected, Messrs Patterson, T. Cooper, and Conrad Smith. The sum of fourteen shillings was contributed to the members private fund. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
