LEGISLATIVE COTJNCIL.

Wednesday, July 17.

On the motion of the Hon. Dr Buchanan a Bill authorising the Bishop of Christchurch to convey certain hereditaments and premises to.trustees appointed in that behalf by the General Synod of the Church of England in New Zealand was introduced and read a first time.

The Hon. Major Richaedson' obtained leave to bring in bills bearing the following titles respectively : — An Act to consolidate and amend the Statute Law relating to Indictable Offences by forgery ; An Act to repeal certain enactments which have been consolidated in several Acts of the present Session, relating to indictable Offences and other matters; An Act to consolidate and amend the Statute Laws relating to offences against the person ; An Act to consolidate and amend the Statute Law relating to larceny and other similar offences ; An Act to consolidate and amend tho Statute Law relating to coin ; An Act to consolidate and amend the Statute Law relating to malicious injury to property. All the Bills were read a first time.
