The Great Western Race Company, having registered a water-race from the highest point in the Wairaca District, and having at some expense and trouble secured an unbounded supply of water, proposes to extend its field of operations. The Company has already brought its race into Fox's, and at the present time is in a position to make over £250 per week. By the expenditure, however, of another thousand pounds, the race might be constructed as far as Greek's, and in that rich neighborhood the value of the water would be at least doubled. The present proprietors, M'Bride and party will sell their interest and property to the Company for £10,000, of which they will receive £2500 in cash, and the remaining *o^ oin P aid - u P so"?- ' me remaining a^aoo now thrown into the market is for me purpose of carrying the work of the Company on to a still more successful stage than it at present occupies. As the supply of water is well nigh inexhaustible, and there is a vaat extent of auriferous ' country accessible only to the Company's race, the Great Western Company is certain to return very large profits upon the outlay of its capital. Intending purchasers will do well to apply at once, as the share list cf the Company will not be long open. The race is at present nearly 5 miles long, and carries 25 government heads of water, being the greatest private enterprise upon the West Coast. Applications for shares may*be addressed to the office of Messrs Rees & Tyler, corner of Camp and Wharf streets, Hokitika, 6140
