ADELAIDE.
Dec. 12. There was a large attendance at the meeting at the Town Hall last night, and resolutions were carried against the proposed increase of the Governor's salary, A petition is to be presented to Parliament. The Assembly has agreed to a bill to borrow L 150,000, for the construction of a new reservoir. The tenders for the survey of the Northern territory are still before the SurveyorGeneral, who is to report upon them. The tenders are very voluminous, and will all be printed before any one is accepted. Corn sacks are worth 15s. All the Estimates have been passed, and a speedy close of the session is anticipated. Twenty-five thousand pounds are to be expended during next year in the improvement of the port. At the wool sale yesterday greasy brought Bd. to 9| d. Wheat for immediate delivery is scarce ; price unaltered, 4s 3d to 4s 4d. Flour, very dull atLll fOs'to Ll2 10. Arrived : Elizabeth and Matilda, with a cargo of timber from the Baltic. She has been ordered on to Melbourne. The Evening Star also proceeds to Melbourne.
