RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before G. G. Fitzgerald, Esq., R.M.) Friday, December 7.
Obstructing the Police. — Georgo Shorthill and Patrick Morriscy were charged with obstructing the police iv the execution of their duty, and the samo being clearly proved, they were respectively fined L 3 ; in default of payment, one week's imprisonment with hard labor. Another charge was preferred agaiust tho prisoner Morrisey, for committing a breach of tho peace within view of a constable, and for which offence he was fined LI ; in de faidt, forty-eight hours' imprisonment. llorse Stealing. — Johu S. Turner, on remand, was placed in the dock charged with horse stealing. Two witnesses were called, who deposed that the accused had ucvor ropresenlcd the horso as his property. His Worship said he would remand the prisoner until to-morrow (this day) in order that ho might review the depositions. The prisoner Wuß accordingly romauded.
