Solictors — Messrs Rees and Tyler. Broker — A. E. Emerson. rpHE Commissioner's Flat Gold Mining Company is formed for the purpose of working three acres of ground on the well-known Commissioner's Flat, Kanieri. The different parts of this large^ block have been held by private parties for twelvemonths, but after repeated efforts it is at last seen that more powerful machinery will be required to work tha ground satisfactorily than these parties could afford. It is believed that before the ground can be properly and profitably wrought, an engine of 30-horse power must be obtained, conjoined to gear of equal strength. There is upon the spot an engine of 12-horse power, which, with the interest of the various claimholders, will be sold to the Company for the nominal sum of six hundred poimds, which can be paid in the Company's sciip. Gold has been traced into the ground which will pay from £12 to £15 per week per man. The various claims upon Commissioner's Flat are now yielding from £7 to £50 per man per week, and, as it is known with tolerable certainty that two, if not three, bottoms are workable, the prospects of the Company are good. The promoters appeal to all classes of business men with confidence, because the system of co-operative working is the only system ultimately possible upon the West Coast, and it is the only system which guarantees permanency and profit. The shares will be paid for as follows : — Ten shillings on application, ten shillings on allotment, and calls of £1 each at intervals of at least a month. Applications for shares to be made at the office of the Company, Temple Buildings, Hokitika. 4709 PEOSPECTUS OF THE KANIERI STEAM DRAINAGE COMPANY. (Eegistercd.) This Company has obtained an extended grant of one and a half acres of ground in addition to their original grant of half an acre on the Commissioner's Flat, Kanieri. They propose {p increase the present paid-up capital of the Company, viz, £1000, , to £2500 for the purpose of improving their present system of working. The ground as at present worked has yielded ISS ozs of Gold in eight weeks' working, avcragii g a dividend of £10 per Meek per share. The pres?nt workings from which the gold has been obtained, show an average of eight feet of wash at 12dwts to the load. The plant on the ground consists of a 12-horse power double cylinder engine, by I'oby, and set of pumps now netting £30 por week to the Company for pumping four adjoining claims. The present Company, in addition 1o their present paid-up capital, hold 100 of the present issue paid-up as a bonus for the draining contracts held by the engine, and. for the ground itself; the remaining 200 are thrown open to the public, who are invited to visit the workings, and inspect the plant and ground prior to purchasing. The large area of ground, and the depth and richness of the wash now in actual work are sufficient to recommend this to practical men as a profitable and safe investment returning a dividend from day of allotment of the shares.
