MAORI RESERVE GOLD MINING COMPANY.
The adjourned half-yearly meeting of the Maori Reserve Gold Mining Compmy (Limited), was held at the Lord Nelson Hotel, Revell street, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday ; Mr Higgius in ihe chair. Secretary read minutes of last meeting, which were connrnud.
Mr Kees submitted rules for the management of Company, which were in nearly every insta-ice adopted. Proposed by Mr Reeves, and seconded by Mr Liddell, " Tliat the secretary be empowered to obtain a seal for the Company." Carried.
Proposed by Mr Clarke, and seconded by Mr Lyncii, "Tl at each shareholder holding over 100 shares be entitled to one vote for every fifteen additional shares." Carried.
A discussion then ensued relative to the Directors of the Company, when Mr Clarke proposed, and Mr Koy<tn seconded, " Thai no person with less than twenty five shares be eligibly to become a Director." Carried.
Fourteen names were submitted to the meeting, and, lifter voting by ballot, the following gentlemen were duly elected as Directors for the ensuing six months :—: — Messrs Martin, Ili^gins, Reeves, Clarke, andßoyan.
Proposed by Mr Reeves, a-ul seconded by Mr Lidmll, "That the rules be left at the vifiice of the Company fur signature." Carried. *
A (.'e^ign for seal was discusse.t, when, on a motion from Mr Reeves, and seconded by Mr Liddell, the Southern Cross, as an emblem was ad-pted. The meeting 1 then closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
A meeting of the new!)' elected Directors was then held, when Mr Higgins was elected chairman, Mr iioyan manager (pro tern), and Mr Willis, secretary (pro tern).
It was then resolved, on the motion of Mr Clarke, " That the secretary be empowered to call upon all shareholders for allotment money, and advertise in local papers that such allotment has taken place. 1 '
