MAORI RESERVE GOLD MINING COMPANY.

A meeting of the above Comnany was held at the Swan Hotel, Wharf-street, on the 20th instant. Mr Higgins in the chair.

The minutes of the last meeting having been read and confirmed, the manager made his report, the substance of which was that the contractor was proceeding with his work in a very satisfactory manner, as five chains of the tail race were already cut. Mr Rees, the company's solicitor, then submitted to the meetiny; a code of rules, to be applied to the working of the ground. These were unanimously accepted, with the exception of one or two which were left for the committee to discuss and repor upon.

It was proposed by_ Mr Clarke, and seconded by Mr RieVes — " That the secretary be empowered to allot shares to present applicants." Carried. Proposed by Mr Kees, and sec >nded by Mr Martin — " That the first general halfyearly meeting be held at the Swan Hotel, on Friday, the 26th instant, at 7 p.m." Carried.

, The following gentlemen were elected as a committee, to assist Mr Rees in preparing a code of b\e-laws for the better guidance of the company. — Messrs Ckrke, Martin, Arthur, and Reeves.

The following accounts were ordered to be paid: — To" the contractor, L2O ; manager, L 18;1 8; secretary, LlO. n Proposed by Mr Reeves, and seconded by Mr Martin — "Thnt'«.the company be immediately' registered." Carried. - Messrs Higgins, Lynch, and the secretary, were authorisaU to sign cheques on behalf of the company. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the proceedings.
