HOKITIKA SAVINGS BANK.
A meeting of the trustees of the above proposed institution, was held on Monday evening, at four o'clock, at the Criterion Hotel, for the purpose of adopting the necessary preliminary measures. Amongst the gentlemen pre-ent, we noticed G. S: Sale, Esq., G. G. Fitzgerald, Esq., Mr G. W. Binney, Mr W. Shaw, Mr Mowatt, Mr Archibald Bouar, seH., Mr South, Mr A. Bouar, junr., and Mr Browning. It was resolved that a list of the trustees, and the name of the manager, Mr Bonar, sen., who was unanimously elected to that office, should be transmitted through the hands of Mr Sale for the approval of Hij Excellency Sir George Grey, from whom it is expected to be returned in a fortnight hence. In the meantime, a subcommittee of five gentlemen waa appointed to assist with Mr Bonar in taking immediate steps to secure a site for the Bank, and to be in readiness to open it (o the public immediately on the return of the list fronrHis Excellency.
