Gentlemen — I was so unexpectedly nominated a candidate for Municipal honors, that I have hesitated to ask you for your suffrages, as I should be sorry to occupy the seat of a better man. » My experience in politics is of a very limited character. But if the majority of my fellow -citizens think that I shall be one of the " right men in the right place to watch over their interests,- 1 beg to offer my humble services ; and, if elected, all the various wants naturally arising in a new district shall have my most careful attention.
