West Coast Times. WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 19, 1866.

The mail for Wellington by the Rangitoto closes this day at one o'clock The petition in support of the Bill to enlarge the representation of Westland in the General Assembly, must be forwarded by this opportunity. The felips containing signatures should be handed in to the Committee, not later than eleven o'clock to-day. Much time will be required to arrange them, so as to enable the petition to be presented in proper form, and the Committee will have to work earnestly to make an effective response to Mr Moorhouse' s appeal for support. We trust that all who have hitherto neglected to append their' names will hasten to repair the omission at an early hour this morning. f

By the Rangitoto we have English files brought by the July mail, and late telegraphic news to the 16lh August. The intelligence is most important. The decisive success of Prussia in the war ; the exclusion of Austria from the future Germanic Confederation; the annexation of Venetia to Italy ; and the probability of an armed intervention on the part of France for the purpose of securing the Rhine provinces, are its main features. iFull extracts from the papers will be found in our other columns.
