Arrived. — Ernestine, with Government immigrants; Alexandra, from Mauritius, for .orders ; Sea Nympb, trom Mauritius, with 2000 bags sugar, to be sold to-mor-row ; Coorong, from Melbourne. Commander Hutchinson, who is a passenger by the last steamer from England, via Panama -(the Kaikoura), is coming here to resume his position as head of the Survey Departments this colony. v Wednesday, September- 5. Messrs Philip Levi and Company have called a meeting of their creditors for Friday next. Their liabilities to one bank alone are said to amount to L 130,000. Thursday, September 6. The Government Estimates show a great increase in departmental expenditure, and propose to raise by loan LI 47,000 for the formation of new roads. Later news from the Darling is to the effect that the flood has not been, so great as was anticipated. The action against Ministers for sitting as judges in Courts of Appeal whilst members ojtParliament, is abandoned. There is no business doing, except some small sales of wheat at 5s 7d. Flour is much depressed ; no transactions. 'Messrs Philip Levi and Co.'s liabilities are estimated at L 274,000. . Skies of wheat were made to-day atr 5s 7d, but buyers now offer only 5s 6d.
