SATURDAY, SEPT. 15, 1866.
A very extraordinary notice appears iv our advertising columns this 1 morning 1 , issued by- Mr Sale, the Commissioner, convening a meeting of the public to be hold at the Court'Plouse, this afternoon, at two o'clock, ." for the purpose of considering the measures necessary to be taken in oVder to obtain increased representation for Iho Westland district iv the General Assembly." What a notice of so unusual a character, issued in such ai) unusual manner, means, we shall probably have the opportunity of learning when Mr Sale 'unfolds the official instructions under which he has acted. The course pursued by him is so wide a -departure from all established precedent and usage, that we refrain iv pure amazement, from offering any present comments upon it.
