Breach of the Canterbury Police Ordinance. — Alexander Mcc, of the Golden Age Hotel, was fined lOs for obstructing the footpath in Revell sti'eet. Larceny. — William Thomas; on remand frohi the 28th, churged with stealing four shovels from the schooner Maid of Erin, Was discharged. Assault. — Robert Mills was charged with assaulting Mary Fishvvick, on the 18th instant. This case had been adjourned from the 25th, to allow the complainant to attend. Mrs Fishwick .stated that she did not wish to press the chai"ge» The information was accordingly discharged. Conspiracy to Murder. — William de Lacey, on remand on this charge front the 20th instant}, was further re.inanded; af the request of the police, until the 7th of September. . „ Wilful Murder. — James Wilson, alias Murray, on remand,, from the 20th. indt.; was also remanded till 7th September, at the request of the police. She found Ll4 4s in her purse, and observing something Under her feet, directed her to move. Prisdner not doing so, witness lifted her foot, and found under it four LlO Bank of New South Wales notes. To the best of witness' belief those now produced are the same found by her. George Fowell, being duly sworn, deposed that he was teller at the Bank of New South Wales, and on the 27th ii.bt., hud paid to a man named Thomas Smith LSO on a deposit leceipt.
