The description which we gave m yesterday's issue of the new steamer Pareora is, through tlie misstatement on the part of our — 'informant, erroneous throughout.' We liave sbeen *faTored by Messrs Koyse, Mudie, it Co., Vlie asents for the Southern Steam Navigation , Company, with her correct dimensions, which are as follow : — Length between the perpendicular-;, 1(50 (bet; beam, 24 feet; carrying ♦capacity, 200 tons, exclusive of 50 tons coal •space. Yesterday morning the surf was extremely lieavy, imd came tumbling home in ridge rafter Wf>ge of foam, which, extended to nearly -a mile distant from the beach. The fretful •'i'lißfing of tlie ocean contrasted strangely with f- fine clear went her which prevailed during the day, and it was a matter for regret that the outward bounders were compelled to keep to tlieir moorings, when — had it been possible to reach the offing — there was such an excellent opportunity of clearing the land.
