The amount of import duty collected at the Custom House to-day was £320 Os 7d. The following list of merchandise cleared shews its distribution :—: —
Business for the current week has been - Tery satisfactory, and prices realised for staple articles have more than maintained our last quotations. Arrivals still continue light, and good lines are placed favorably. The cargo of the Spray, which was offered on Tuesday, realised the following prices :— chaff, L2l 10s per ton; oats> 7s Id to 7s 3d ; bran, 4s 2d per bushel ; lobsters, 12a 6d per doz; £lb sardines, 9s6dperdoz; jama, 2lbs, 22s per doz; bacon (colonial), 1b l|d; butter, 2s 4d; oatmeal, 4£d ; Guinness* stout, 17s per dozen. At the sale held by Messrs M'Landress, Hepburn and Co., at their rooms, on the Ist instant, very good prices were realised. The bid- ding was spirited, shewing a decided tendency to higner prices than have been ruling, and approximatingjiearer to import cost.
