The p.s. Lyttelton returned from her trip' tq Okarita yesterday. She left this port on th» Slit ult., and arrived off the bar of that port at 8 p.m. It being too late to cross, she laid outside all night, and entered the river at tids time the next day. Discharged her cargo and left for Hokitika at noon on the 2nd inst., reaching the roadstead that evening, and arriving at the wharf as above. She brings up no gold, but about 100 passengers. Captain Heron, the Okarita harbor-master, ttports that the channel there is very good, as it contains twelve feet of water, and runs straight out to sea. The p.s. Bruce floated off the bank yesterday, and "now lies abreast the Police Camp. " We are eorry to hear that tho is making irater under the boilers. The Egmont arrived in the roadstead during the night, from Nelson, having called at Greymouth on her way down. She leaees for the Bluff and Dunedin to-day, transferring Melbourne passengers to the Otago s.s., which trill await her arrival at the former port. i
