SITTINGS UNDER DEBTORS AND CREDITORS ACTS.

(Before his Honor Mb Justice Gbessox.)

Monday, July 30th, 1866.

IN BE MICHAEL MOBAN. Mr O'Loughlin applied for and obtained an extended order of protection on account of the affidavit of service not having been forwarded.

IN BE MOSS ISAACS. No attendance of insolvent. IN BE JOHN BYRNE. Mr Button appeared for the insolvent, and hearing was adjourned for holding a meeting of creditors to appoiut.a trustee. IN BE WILLIAM COCHBANE. Mr Campbell appeUredfor the petitioner, who was absent, and the hearing was postponed.

IN BE EDWARD HAWKINS. On the application of Mr O'Loughlin the meeting was adjourned till next hearing. IN BE JOHN AHKELL. Mr South appeared for the petitioner, who was examined as to'the state of his circumstances, and the correctness of his schedules. The schedules were amended, and the meeting adjourned for the purpose of calling a meeting of creditors. ' IN RE WILLIAM MEIKXE. Mr South applied for an adjournment, which was granted. WILLIS AND WILDBIDGB. i Mr Campbell appeared for the petitioners, and stated that Mr Wildridge had met" with a severe accident which prevented his attendance. Mr Willis also was not in attendance. The meeting was adjourned till half-past ten o'clock to-morrow. IN HE JOHN DENMIB WALKER. Mr Button appeared for the petitioner ; Mr South appeared for an opposing creditor, but said that the necessary notice not having been served he must defer his examination till the second hearing. Mr Button applied for an order for adjournment for the purpose of convening a meeting of creditors.

IN BE J. U. WILLIAMS. In th's case Mr South appeared for the petitioner, who he said was at Okarita and unable to attend the present meeting. Upon his application the meeting was adjourned for a second meeting of creditors.

IV BE JAMES GILCHBIST. Mr South for the petitioner. The meeting was adjourned upon the application of Mr South for the purpose of convening a meeting of creditors.

IN RB BOBEBT WALKER. Mr Button for the petitioner, applied to have the schedule amended. The petitioner had been obliged to pay his landlord's rent (L4O) to save the goods. Mr Campbell said he appeared for the landlord, and tendered a'proof which he intended as a preferential claim. The meeting was upon the application of Mr Button adjourned. IN BE T. B. FAWCKTT AND C. T. EVEBEBTB. Mr Campbell appeared for the petitioner!, and applied to have the schedules amended, and for an adjournment to convene a meeting of creditors. The applications were granted.

IX BE HARDING.

Mr South applied to have the case adjourned till next sittings. Application granted. „ IN HE A. G. MILLER. Mr Button appeared for the petitioner. Mr South said he had been instructed by two of the principal creditors, Messrs Spence Brothers and Mr G. W. Binney, to oppose ; but he would defer his examination till next hearing. Upon the application of Mr Button, the meeting was adjourned for the purpose of convening a meeting of creditors. IN BE GEOBQE PHILLIP FBLLOWEB. Mr O'Loughlin appeared for the petitioner. The meeting was adjourned till next sitting. IN BE HENRY GRIFFITHS. Mr South, for petitioner, applied for an adjournment for holding a meeting of creditors, which was granted. " IN RB WILLIAM BYBNES. Mr Rees for petitioner. James Brewster Armstrong, a judgment creditor, a partner of the insolvent, appeared to oppose ; but the requisite notices not having been given by him, the meeting, upon the application of Mr Rees, was adjourned for the purpose of holding a meeting of creditors. * Mr O'Loughlin explained to his Honor the nature of the transactions between the petitioner and the judgment creditor. IN RE CORLIES IJ-OTD THBOCKMORTON. Mr Button, for petitioner, applied to have the schedules amended, which was done by making the following alterations : —Waller and Craig, omitted; Lloyd, Taggart and Co., omitted; J.H.Horn, omitted ; E. F. Bathurst, omitted ; A. T. Lazarus, omitted; William Moffatt, disputed (Insolvent stated that this creditor had received L2l from another party) ; Harnett and Co., disputed as to amount ; N.
