Since our last report business has been of a most satisfactory character, and, although we cannot report any heavy transactions (arrivals having been on a very limited scale), several parcels of suitable goods have changed hands at pricea fully maintaining our last quotations.

Wholesale houses have been fully employed with country orders, which are just now coming down freely.

At a sale of general merchandise, held at the rooms of M'Landress Hepburn and Co., on the 24th instant, the following prices were realised :— Colonial bacon, Is 2^d per lb. ; Wellington butter, 2s 3d (unusually large casks) ; £ sardines, 10s per doz. ; i sardines, 14s 6d per doz. ; Morton's salmon, 21s pe'- doz ; 21b*. tins ditto, 3os ; lobsters, lib., 11s 9d. Teas, of which some really good quality, in halfchests, was offered, brought good prices, and, as we have previously remarked, the best class of goods will be found to pay the importers a good and fair remuneration.

In flour we have no alteration to note. Good Adelaide ia in demand.

Oats arc in d-mand, and our last quotation is well maintained. Chaff is in good supply. Bran scarce ; some shipments due. Produce generally comes to a good market, and if shipments are made prudently this market cannot but shew satisfactory returns.
