Is it a fact that the country from Hokitika to Greymouth has been the Aceldema, "the field of blood," that this wretched man's statement would show? It is incredible. But there is the damning confession of a villain, who hopes to save his own neck by lifting up the curtain of this ghastly chamber of horrors. The circumstantial details of his statement will be waited for with paiuful interest.
