The " Daily Times," of the 4th instant, reports : —
As yet the business of the week just opened has shown no improvement upon the quiet state of things recorded as charaetei-ising trade lately, importers remaining very quiet, and very" little activity being observable in any branch of business. In the flour market,'! transactions have been limited to the supply of actual requirements, beyond which no demand exists ; rates as last given. The Camilla has furnished the market with a sufficient supply of South Australian for present wants. Teas and sugars maintain recent improved rates, and demand is lively for small parcels ; high .prices and limited stocks operating in the case of the latter article against any considerable operations. Buyers for malt liquors are corning forward, and some parcels to arrive are reported as having been placed at fully maintained prices. Market quotations are generally unaltered, or too little deviation has laken place to call for notice.
