NEW SOUTH WALES.
We have Sydney files to the 23rd inßt. Of the markets the "Herald" reports briefly as follows :—: — Thero is hardly any improvement to notice in tho markets generally; nearly every description of goods is difficult of sale ; and hardly any two houses appear agreed upon the present market value of most articles of "import. The produce sales to-day (20th June) passed off with greater briskness than last week's, and for all good parcels of hides there was an active demand, chiefly for shipment to England. The only parcel of extra weights !offered induced sharp competition amongst local manufacturers, and realised 10a each. 1977 hides were catalogued, of whioh 1637 sold at from 5s 6d to 19s. The quantity of tallow offered amounted to 307 casks, th.) sales to 234 casks. "Reef tallow brought from L4l to L 53 12s 6d, and mutton from L4B 10s to L 56. These rates exhibit a slight decline on previous sales .
