As you have been lcind enough to oxpress confidence in md, I feel as a citizen that I ought not to disregard your wishes, I have, therefore, much pleasure in placing my services at your disposal, not for this district only, but for the purpose of advancing the collective interests of the ■ whole municipality. In the initiation and working of Municipal Institutions in so important a city as Hokitika, considerable' caro and discretion will be required to be exercised ; and in furtherance of such a course, you may rely on my earnest endeavors.
