Iv our commorcinl summary wo give tho quantity of gold cleared at tho port of Hokitika botwoen tho 12th May and the lGth Juno, as 41,997 ozs., paying duty to tho amount of L 5370 13.*, Gd.- Wo havo no official returns of tho quantity clearod during the same period at tho port of Greymoutli, but by ono shipment alono, in tho couvso of Iho month, 15,000 ozs. were foiwavdod from the Q-rey, and a small further shipment of 2000 ozs., from the samo district, was made by the Q-othonburg, on Ducsday last. Wo give these figures as illustrative facts, not as a oompleto record of our gold export.' Nest month's shipments promiso to^bo equally large, favorable accounts continuing to bo received in town from all the goldfiolds in this district ; whilst tho " Gray ltiver Argus," of Saturday, reports :—": — " Gold haa como in very freely during tho past weok, and somo heavy parcels have been purchased by tho Banks."
