*West Coast Times Office. Saturday, Juno 18, 1866. Our last Summary for Europe was published on the 12th ult., for despatch by the steamor Gothenburg for Melbourne, which po*t the Peninsular and Oriental Company's steamer leaves monthly, conveying mails by the Suez route. On this occasion our Summary is prepared for despatch by the Panama route, the first steamer under the now contract being appointed to leave Wellington on the 24th inst. The post will close on Monday morning, tho steamship Airedale sailing for Wellington on that day. Under the contract arrangements, news* papers forwarded by the Panama routo require to have a penny postage stamp affixed to them.
The English March mails arrived at the Bluff on the 17th ultimo, and tho principal items of intelligence were for~ warded by our agent by olectrio telegraph, and published early the same evening. Tho English telegrams received were to the 18th April. Arranged under thoir usual headings, we give the most important items of intelligence for the month now closed. In our commercial columns will be found a more complete epitome of mercantile and Customs' transactions than has yet appeared.
