' Star of tho Evening, for Molbourno, 11th June. , Lizzie Ooleson, for Sydnoy, to-day. VESSELS IN POBT. Cutter— Volunteer. Schooners. — Caroline, Tambo, Lloyds, Herald, Emma Eliza, lona, Lizzio Coleson John Mitehol, Falcon. Steamers— Challenge, Yarra, Lioness, Bruce, Star of tho Evening. It is singularly unfortunate that tho Star of tho Evoning, s s., should bo detained outside, having later nows from Melbourne to tho 23rd instant. ' Captain Turner vory prudontly doclined attempting tho bar by yesterday's tido ; in fact had ho crossed tho bar safely, it it is questionable whether tho Star could have stommed tho heavy fresh running down, without some mishap. No doubt by tins ovoning's tido the weather will have moderated sufficiently to enable some of the tug boats to proceed outside, whon a pilot will bo placed on board tho Star to bring hor into harbor. In consequence of tho sudden inclement and boisterous Btato of tho weather yesterday none of tho harbor steamers woro ablo to proceed outside. The p.s. Bruco, which should linve sailed for Okarita last ovoning, was unablo to receive cargo ; in fact, tho business of loadiug or discharging vessels at tho wharf wns entirely suspended ; moreover, tho heavy rain-fall caused such a fresh in tho river that had any of tho vessels been ready for sea it would not havo boon prudent to havo cast off their ln'oorings.at the wharf.
