West Coast Times. FRIDAY, MAY 25, 1866.
We arc indebted to Mr. P. I<\ Jones, the purser of the Claud Hamilton, for a copy of the " Home News" of tho 26th Maroh, from which we regret that the pressure on our columns prevents our making more copious extracts in our present issue. The elaborate address of My. Imnce, which appears to be the substance of the speech he was prevented from delivering at the lateriotous meeting at the Town Hall, Christchurch, will be read with interest, as an able exposition of tho political situation of the province m the point of view taken by him iv his contest for the Superintendency. In a separate address, it will be scon, he excuses himself for not having paid the electors of Westland a visit, and recognises the great claims of this district to consideration at the hands of any future Provincial Government that may be called to power.
