The cutter Lapwing, recently towed out of Okarita by the Bruce, hovo in sight off the port yesterday morning, and at tide timo tho tug stoamer Lionoß^ procoedod out and took tho cuttor in tow for tho Grey Rivor, whoro sho is bound for a cargo of coals. Tho p.s. Persevevo left for tho Grey yesterday, on early tide, with cargo and a fow passengers. Sho is under engagement to tow in tho Falcon, and has also arranged for towing out the, Murray, schoonor, John Mitchell, ketch, and ono or two other small craft. Tho s.B. Claud Hamilton, which loft this port, for Nelson, on Friday afternoon, anchored off tho Grey tho aatno evening, and on Saturday, at noon, tho p.s. Persevoro, which accompanied her, took a fow passengers on Bhoro, and then brought a number from tho Groy to the Claud Hamilton, whioh steamer started about 2 p,ra. on that day for Nolson, from whenco sho is oxpected to return in timo to leave again on 25th, for Nolson and other northern ports. A member of our staff took tho opportunity of accompanying tho Claud Hamilton previous to her departnro from tho Groy, this last voyage, and speaks very highly of tho superior accommodation provided on board, for both cabin and steerago passengers.
