TN PURSUANCE of tho provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled " The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," and another Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Provincial Elections Act, 1858," I, William Donald, Principal Returning Officer of the Province of Canterbury, do hereby givo notico, that by virtue of a Writ, bearing date the seventh day of May, 1866, issued undor tho hand of his Excellonoy the Governor of Now Zealand, an Election will bo hold for tho return of a qualified porson to serve as Superintendent of the Provinco of Cantorbury, and that] tho nomination of candidates will tako place at the Town Hall,- Christchurch, on WEDNESDAY, , tho 23rd day of May, 1866, at the hour of noon; and that tho poll (if necessary), will bo taken on Wednesday, tho 30th day of May, 1866. , Dated this eleventh day of May, 1866.
