TN PURSUANCE Jof the provisions o an Act of the General Assembly o New, Zealand, intituled " The Regu lation of Elections Act, 1858," and another Act of the General Assembly 6 of New Zoaland, intituled "The Provincial Elections Act, 1858," I, William Donald, Principal Returning Officer of the Province of Canterbury, 'do hereby give notice, that by virtue of a Writ, bearing date the seventh day of May, 1866, issued under the hand of his Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, an Election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, and that* the nomination of candidates will take place at the Town Hall,' Ckristohurch, on WEDNESDAY, the 23rd day of May, 1866, at the hour of noon ; and that the poll (if necessary), will be taken on Wednesday, tho 30th day of May, 1866.
