The boiler is multi-tubular ; the sholl is of bost Staffordshire plate, and tho firebox all of Low Moor iron ; the tubes are wrought iron, well disposed for strength, and with ample space for the circulation of water, and tho settling of sediment ; tho ash pan fits olosely to tho bottom of fire-box, and ha 3 a flap-door attached to regulate the draught. The appendages comprise second lock-up safety valve, steanie pressure guago and signal whistle, steam indicator, glass-water guage, guago cock, blow-off cock, &c. The fly-wheel is turned on its periphery, and being accurately counterweighted, longitudinal vibration of tho engine is provented, which, when it occurs, not only increases wear and tear, but is a frequent cause of tho driving strap running off. Provision is made for rovorsing tho motion of tho engino by a simplo adjustment of tho slido valvo eccontric, and the speed is regulated by a diroct-acting governor. A forco pump, driven vertically from the crank shaft, is attached to tho boiler for supplying it with water ; but a Gilford's injector can bo applied instead if required. All pins, eyes, and nuts, aro case hardened ; and self-acting lubricators, wrought out of tho solid material, aro fitted to tho journals and slides. This engino is fitted with a comploto set of case-hardenedjhammers, firing tools, funnel, tube, brush, oil feeder, spare guago glass, spare fusible plug, and a waterproof cover, and furnished with check chains, ock chains, shoo and chain. ■ This engino has beon tested undpr steam at a high pressure before it loft tho works. Tho power is calculated at 351bs prossuro of steam in tho boiler, but it may be safoly worked at GOlbs pressuro (tho boilerplates being of oxtra strongth, and thoroughly well stayed) at which it would givo off double its nominal powor. This guago is mado to template and guago thoughout. For further particulars apply to tho auctioneers. KICIIARD REEVES & CO., ; 124591 2459 , Wharf-strcot.
