In undertaking tho arduous responsibility of issuing a daily newspaper of full size and of high character in a young community like Hokitika, tho proprietors and conductors of tho West Coast Times are actuated by a desiro to meet tho requirements of a commcrco that has already attained largo dimensions, and is daily rapidly increasing. A Monthly Summary will, for tho future, bo published for transmission by the outgoing mnil for Europe and the colomos. Moro comploto arrangements aro in progress for tho supply of mining intelligence from tho various diggings ; and no effort will be omitted to render tho West Coast Times a First-Class Daily Jouhnal. Tho subscription to tho West Coast hum is 12s. per month, paid in advanco. Tho Quarters commence on the Ist days of January, April, July, and October. Subscribers dosiring to commence at any other time can do so by paying for the fractional part of the unoxpired term.
