Thiusday, Jan. 4. Tho Aerated Bread Company commenced selling bread to-day. It is much liked. • Government land sale realised £4000. Mr Caulthiu'd, Government engineer, who was employed in draining tho South Eastern district, died yesterday. Buyers of wheat offer 8s 9d ; sellers ask 9s, under which price nothing can be purchased. No chaugo in flour.
Friday, Jan. 5 A goldfield is reported to have been discovered in the Murray district. In the wheat market prices aro unaltered Small parcels of town brand flour sold at £22 10s. The weather is intensely hot. The thermometer stood to-day at 108* in the shade.
