Several parties residing at a distance from Tlokitika, having forwarded advertisements* to this ofh'co without enclosing payment for tho same, we beg to inform the public that in no case will an advertisement be insprted unless prepaid, except the advertiser has already nn account with us, or that the order is sufficiently large to justify us in booking the same. The annoyance and loss consequent on the collection of small amounts, especially , from parties at a distance, havo compelled us to adopt this course, which will in future bo strictly adhered to. The above must be taken as tho reason why favors from the following parties, intended for insertion in tho present issue, are omitted ; the sums annexed represent the price for the sjuiio :— Hy. 1)., (Grey), 7s; J. M. (Hokitika) 13s : V. and R. (Qiieonstown, Otago, 13s 6d, (balance) ; 11. W. (Grey), 11s Gd.
