Sevoral parties residing at a distance from Hokitika, having forwarded advertisements to this office without enclosing payment for tho same, we bog to inform tho public that in no case will an advertisement be inserted unless propaid, except the advertiser lias already an account with its, or lhat the order is sufficiently largo to justify us in bookiug the same. The annoyance and loss consequent on • the collection oi small amounts, especially from parties at n distance havo compelled us , to adopt this soursa, which will in future bo ( strictly adhered to. above must be takon as the reason why favors from tho following parties, intended for ' insertion iv the present issue, are omitted ; the sums' annexed represent the price for thn same :•— Hy. 8., (Grey), 7s ; M. B. (Kanieri) 16s Cd ; J. M. (Hokitika), 13s : F. and It. (Queenstown, Otago, 13s tid, (balance).
