The .brigantine Isabella'sailed from Sydney on the 15th instant, with a smart breeze from the north-east. The next day it chopped suddenly to the north-west, blowing hard a few hours, and suddenly abated after raising a tremendous sea, which made the ship labor heavily. On the 17th she fell in- with a burster from tho south, whioh hove her /too. under closereefed foretopsail, a frightful cross sea running. The vessel rolling both rails under, shipping much water, and straining in overy seam . On sounding tho pumps it was found sho had sprung a leak, nud on examination discovered a rent in therein post ; set to work as quickly as possible and stopped it, fortunately, before the cargo had received damage . On tho 24th the weather came ia very thick, which in duced the captain, who by his reckoning was clo.se to the land, to heave to for tho night. Mado the land the next day, but light bridling winds prevailing did not reach the roadstead until the 27th, when she anchored, and was towed safely to the wharf by the Yarra, the day after. The Isabella brings a full general cargo to our port.

The brigantine Leonidas left Port Philip Heads on the 14ih inst., tho wind from N. to N.N.W. The weather during the passago was broken, much thunder and lightning prevailing with strong breezes from west to noith all the way across, She arrived in roadstead on tho 27th, and anchored, towing to tho wharf next day astern of tho Lioness. Tho Leonidas brings a full general cargo to our port.

The schooner Atlantic left Sydney on tho 20th inst., with strong N.W. breezes. W. nnd N.W f winds prevailed during her rim aoross, which she acomplishcd in eight days, making tho land on tho 28th. Sho fortunately readied tho entrance to our river at high water tho same day, and was towed to the wharf by the Yarra without anchoring in the roads. The Atlantic brings a full general cargo to our port, and has made tho quickest passago from Sydney, on record .

Tho P.N.55. and A.R.M. Co.'s s.s. Rangitoto left Port Philip Heads bound to this port on the 24th inst., at 9.30 a.m. Sho paused Kent's Qrbup at 10 a.m. name day ; made tho land to the south of Hokitika at 4.30 n.m. on the 29th, anchoring in the roadstead at 10. a.m., afcor a splendid run of four days 23 hours. During the passage, light south and S.W. breezes and fine weather prevailed. Tho Rangitoto brings a full general cargo for this and other N.Z. ports. The Bchoonor Dovo sailed from Port Philip Heads on tho 28th ult., with light winds from tho N.E., which prevented hor gotting clear of tho land until tho Ist inst., when it hauled to tho westward. On that day sho took hor lust doparturo, Babel Island , bearing S.W. by W. On tho 3rd, wind increased to a W.S.W. galo, tho vossol laboring heavily, lteducod canvas to closo-roofcd mainsail and trysail, undor which sho hcadrofiehcd till tho 6th, straining in every timber ) and on sounding tho well it was found blio had sprung a leak, which necessitated attention to tho pumps overy two hours. On tho 7th, a galo again blow up from the old qimrtor, bringing tho vobsol to undor balancod-reofed mainsail j tho leak also incroascd so much as to keep tho

pumps going ovoly half-hour. Tho sou on tho 11th was vory heavy, tho Hchoonor taking much water on board, sliipping x ono combor that half fllled tho cabin. by n very high sea j on the 23rd, cspcoially, the violonce' of thogalo compelled hor to strike tho topmast,* and lay to for many hours, tho soa breaking over hor tho whole time, nnd tho Irak hecamo so troubleswio as to keep tho crow almost constantly at tho pumps. On tho 2Glh, tho weathor moderating, canvas was again got on hor, and, to check tho leak, a sail was thrummed and passod under the bows, and as it was supposed sho was making water forward, tho anohors and a part of tho cargo woro shifted nft. This proved of much sorvico, although tho pumps had still to bo kept going, nearly without intermission. Luckily, tho termination to hor passago was tit. hand, for on tho 29th sho arrived in tho roadstead, and after standing off and on for a few hours, was towed over the 7 bar by tho Yarra. Tho Dovo brings a full general cargo to our. port.
