As some misunderstanding exists on tho subject, and unfounded complaints have been made in consequence, we are requested by Capt. Turnl)ull, harbor master, to state that tho code of "s'gnMs at work nt the Grey is in all respects as complete as those used in Hokitika. The ketch, John Mitchel, left Sydney heads on the 1 7th ult. The first threo days after leaving the land, strong easterly gales and a heavy sea prevailed, the little vessel being frequently under wafer. The remainder of the passage was characterised by light northerly winds and fine wenthor until she arrived off Cape Foulwind, on 28th, when it blewup heavily from the south nnd S.W. for a few hours. She arrived in tho roadstead on the 2nd inst. The day after, whilst lying at anchor, the schooner Tiger, in tow of the Yarra, got athwart her hawse, carrying away hor jihboom and bulwarks, besides doing other damage.
