Anthony Wrench, who escaped from Sydnoy lock-up in January, is in custody for robbing Slater's jewellery shop, at Rockhampton. Ho was arrested at Collingwood. The police have recovered property worth nearly L3OO, supposed to be part of tho proceeds of the robbery. Little sold under hammer, but subsequently 300 tons changed hands privately, at prices withheld, but supposed to bo about L2l 10s. Wool auction at Goldsborough's : 2051 bales offered, 773 sold ; greasy, 74d to 13d ; fleece, 16d to 22Hd ; scoured, 15£ dto 22d. Several clips sold by private contract. Maize, 4s 9d.
