Cholera of a virulent type has broken out at Neemuchin her Majesty's 45ih Regiment; out of forty cases admitted into the hospital, thirty proved fatal.
At tho Bombay Criminal Court, two of tho nativo directors of tho Commercial Finance and Slock Exchange Corporation, have been transported for life, and a third sentonced to four years' imprisonment, on a charge of forgery.
Bombay was lighted with gas for tho first timo on the 7th October.
In consequenco of tho late cyclones nt Calcutta, the Govommont havo determined to ostnlish meteorological stations on tho Hooghly, that shipmasters may bo propared.
Peace negotiations with Bhootan; envoys wero unsuccessful, and hostilities will be resumed during tho ensuing cold weat'-er.
Lieutenant-Colonel Campbell, commanding th« forces, bos been doposed for mismanagement.
