SYDNEY.
Wednesday, Nov. 8. The Government suspended the examining engineer for negligence in not reporting the state of the Agnes Irving's boiler. A strict enquiry as to the cause of the late explosion has been ordered.
The Treasurer has announced his intention to introduce an Amending Stamp Act. The City of Adelaide will take the next branch mail to the Sound. Friday, Nov. 10. The wool sales are dull. The man Morrell, formerly with tho blacks, died at Port Denison.
The Government do not intend id abolish the newspaper tax. Large parcels ofi Chilian flour and wheat are offered at auction, without finding purchasers. The markets are dull.
