This Association is formed for tho purposo of extracting tho gold from Iho sand on tho sea beach, by a simple chemical process, with electric quicksilver j)latos. Tho whelo of tho boach for at loast 100 miles has boon proved to bo auriferous. It is proposed to erect machines on tho most eligible spots. Tho returns aro ascertained to avorago at least 2 dwts per cubic yard of sand. Each apparatus can pass through 40 loads overy 24 hours, equal to 4 ozs of gold. Tho oxponso in labour, quicksilver, management, &c., would not exceed £6 por day, leaving a profit of £220 por month. With 10 machines at work, tho profit consequently would bo £2,200 a month, or £25,000 por annum. Satisfactory arrangements have been cntored into with tho proprietor, who has at present a small experimental machine at work near tho Comotcry road, and which is now opon for public inspection. It is proposed in tho first iuslanco to raiso a capital of £2,000 only, in 2,000 shares of £1 each, with no further liability.
