Sin, — Observing in your lists of casualties of tho 26th instant, ■ that an acquaintance of mine who was unfortunate enough to loso his lifo by drowning in tho Teremakau river, on Friday last, is montioned as "Jemmy" Smith, I shall bo glad if you will, through tho medium of your valuablo papor, for tho satisfaction of his relatives and friends, state the truo name of tho doceased, viz., F.
