IT is notified, for goneral information, that, at a date to bo particularised in a futuro notice, probably in the month of November, 1865, the Provincial Government of tho Province of Hawko's Bay will offer for sale, and lease tho valuable lands, a description of which is hereafter given. The districts in which these lands aro situate havo only recently been acquired from tho native proprietors, and no land has been sold in them. 1 . — The township of Hikatu consisting of, about GOO town sections. This township will bo sold by publio auction, and offers unusual advantages for settlement. It is situated on tho Wairoa, a river navigablo for nviny miles from its mouth, with a vast country containing large blocks of rich agricultural land, and also an extensive pastoral district. Tho Provincial Government have about two hundred thousand acres in this district to open up for settlement, tho whole of this country is at present unoccupied, and will be offered for public competition. 2. — Suburban land adjoining tho township of Hikatu. This block will bo laid out in lots of from ten to sixty acres, and is nearly all rich agricultural land, a great deal of it abutting on the Wairoa River. It will be disposod of by public auction. 3.— Agricultural land, adjoining tho suburban land at the Wairoa, and Mahia, and in different parts of the Waivoa and adjacent districts. There is a largo extont of really fine agricultural land to bo brought into the market from time to time, ns demand for it occurs. This land will bo surveyed, and laid out in sections, suitable for tho occupa'ion of agricultural settlers, and will be sold to tho first applicant at one pound per acre. Land for commonage will bo reserved, adjacent to each block of agricultural land, for 14 years, equal m extent to tho quantity of land sold or oftered for sale. 4.— Pastoral land, about (120,000) ono hundred and twenty thousand acres of lamL, suitable for sheep runs, situate m Wairoa, and adjacent districts, will be divided into blocks not exceeding, in any case, ten thousand acres, and bo leased, by public auction, for fourteen years to the highest bidder. The sanction of the Legislaturo has to bo obtained beforo these runs can be disposed of. 5. — Township of tho Mahia. This township will consist of about 200 town sections. It is situate at tho tho shipping place of the Mahia Peninsula and adjacent districts. The land is good in the vicinity, and tho Crown has a largo acreage; there for disposal. This township will be sold by publio auction. 6. — Suburban land, at tho Mahia, adjacent to tho township, and of good quality, will bo sold in lots of from ton to sixty acres, by public auction. 7. — About six thousand acres of the Almriri Plains, well known to bo tho richest agricultural land in tho colony, nnd immediately adjoining tho Township of Napier. These blocks aro hold in lease from tho natives for periods of twonty-ono and twenty-two years, and will bo loosed, by publio auction, in lots, suitable for tho settlement of an agricultural population for like periods. A future notice will bo issued, giving tho day on which these valuable lands will bo thrown open to tho public, and particulars as to upset price, size of lots, &c, will be published. Settlers desiring to make permanent homes are invited to inspect the districts about to bo opened for settlement ; they will find tho land of cxcollont quality, and tho climate tho finest in New Zoaland.
